Vintage Couture Silk Brocade Gold Dress with Matching Jacket Made in Hawaii XS Small

$125.00

Beautiful, feminine and still totally stylish today, this outfit was purchased at a local estate sale, where the daughter told me that her mother picked up the fabric in China during a visit there in the 1960's and had this outfit custom made in Hawaii, on her way back to the continental US. The only label states, 'Custom Made Chic Mode Made in Hawaii'. Gorgeous and delicate silk satin brocade, in a starburst pattern. Really pretty! Darted bust and double pleats at the waist. Jacket is fully lined in silk. The back of the skirt part of the dress is also fully lined.

Bust ~ 32" (measured at the bottom of the darts, straight across, and then doubled) Waist ~ 26" Hips ~ 36" Length ~ 39". Shoulder seam to waist ~ 15". Darted bust and double pleats at the waist. The open jacket is quite roomy, measuring 20" across the chest, laying flat. (And again, at the bottom of the darts, straight across, and then doubled). Jacket length is 20 1/2".

Alteration considerations: My seamstress says that this dress can be altered to a size 34" bust. She would charge $12 to do the job ... please convo me if you are interested ... I can simply adjust the price accordingly. The hem too, is generous, easily allowing for an additional 2".

This is a beautiful set in really nice condition. Please convo with any questions or to request additional and specific photos.

Additional

A WORD REGARDING SHIPPING COSTS

Fabric orders are custom cut by our shipping department. Therefore a small portion of shipping charges go toward paying their wages. Also, fabric orders that ship on a roll are usually too long to travel on FedEx or USPS conveyor belts. Therefore they must move through the shipping facilities BY HAND which incurs an additional (and fairly substantial) handling fee from the courier.

If you do not see the required yardage, please contact me. I am happy to fill custom orders when available. Have additional questions? Please call (706) 949-0064.
